Textbook

Henley, C. Foundations of Neuroscience. Open Edition. (Free online text. Links to assigned readings will be provided each week).

Technology

Students will need access to a laptop or tablet (laptop recommended for exams) and access to reliable internet.

Learning Technologies

We will use Desire 2 Learn (D2L) for NEU 300. 

Desire 2 Learn (D2L)

D2L will be used for all course components, which includes: 

  • Scheduling and organizing of assignments (Problem Sets, Synthesis Questions, Learning Reflections, Exams)
  • Unit checklists
  • Distribution of all handouts (Learning Objectives, Case Studies)
  • Discussions
  • Answer videos
  • Informal collaborative chat space with classmates
  • Gradebook
  • Announcements

We will use Microsoft Word documents for assignments. Please make sure to have downloaded the Word version that is a part of the Office 365 suite of apps made available to all MSU students, staff, and faculty. I also recommend saving all documents to your Microsoft OneDrive space to avoid any loss of data due to computer issues. 

Technical Assistance

The first week will be learning how to navigate. I do not expect anyone to be an expert in these technologies! You will learn and succeed in the course!
